Congratulations to Sarah Elizabeth over at delivering grace for knowing FFS was visiting Dover Castle!!
Here are some more pictures:
We were learning from the guide how the door was opened and closed.
The servants’ downstairs room was all hands-on activities for the kids. Very neat!
During the years Dover was a jail, the prisoners would use floor nails to carve into the walls. Some of the pictures were stories from the scriptures. When we entered the chapel, there was no “graffiti” on the walls. All of the prisoners respected that space.
Not quite sure whose underwear this is supposed to represent…
In the middle of the picture you can see a tower that was built by the Romans as a lighthouse. It was the first thing built on this hill.
We also went into the tunnels which had been used for Operation Dynamo in WWII. The tunnels were fascinating, but a little scarey for the kids.
Last clue!! Do you know where we are?
If you know, please leave your answer in the comments below.
Cheers!
Uh – Heathrow airport?
Nope. 🙂
Paddington!
